State of Journalism 2024 Review
Earlier this month, Muck Rack released their annual State of Journalism report. Here are my highlights and takeaways.
Do I ever love a good study! Research, data, facts and figures make me happy — they add something tangible and concrete to the chaos of my day-to-day life as an entrepreneur. Each year, I devour the multitude of studies that are released about the media and PR industries, and then I diligently work to incorporate the information into my work as a publicist and educator.
On March 12, Muck Rack released their annual “State of Journalism” report. I like this one a lot — mostly because the layout is very digestible…and the information is good, as well!
If you’re not familiar with Muck Rack, it’s a leading PR and media relations software, which includes a massive media database — full disclosure, I’ve only dabbled in the platform myself. I have accessed some of their free resources, including the Muck Rack Academy, but have never been a paying member and have no affiliation with the company.
Whether you work in the PR industry or are doing PR as part of your business’s marketing strategy, there’s a pile of useful information in this report! And now you don’t have to sift through it yourself — I’m here to provide you with the top takeaways and highlights and how you can apply them to your own media strategies.
